Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform various front-desk duties in the merchandise shop: answer phones and address customer queries in a professional manner.
  • Process customer payments using the POS (point of sales) system on the Pastel Point of Sale program.
  • Unpack and count new stock delivered by suppliers.
  • Label merchandise and display items on shop shelves.
  • Assist clients to find specific merchandise in the shop.
  • Assist to keep the sales floor area clean and organised.
  • Assist with stocktake procedures.
  • Assist to dispatch merchandise items to other shops.
  • Assist permanent staff members to follow up on KovsieGear quotations.
  • Assist to deliver merchandise on campus if necessary.
  • Assist to organise storerooms.
  • Perform ad hoc duties within the department when needed.
  • Work at any other marketing exhibitions, such as pop-up shops.
  • Travel to other campuses when needed.

Inherent requirements:

  • Grade 12 or National Vocational Certificate on NQF level 4.
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities (retail environment).

Recommendations:

  • Experience in a similar retail environment, e.g., clothing and gift shop.
  • A valid Driver's licence.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is R 211 391.43- R 354 408.50 per annum, depending on the budget available for the position, experience and qualifications.
